The History of Chengdu’s Streets

As recorded in historical documents, the construction of Chengdu city first began over 2,300 years ago. Chengdu is the only city in China that didn’t change its original site and name throughout history. Time has changed, so have the old streets and alleys which have been taken place by a whole new view. Yet a local in Chengdu is still endeavoring to walk through Chengdu’s old streets, recording stories of their past and present.
